What is RRB Full Form?

The RRB Full Form is the Railway Recruitment Board and the term RRB is very popular among those who prepare throughout the year for the government jobs which are conducted by recruiting bodies.

History of Railway Recruitment Board (RRB)

Established in 1942,The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) was under the name Railway Service Commission and  Railway Service Commission was renamed the Railway Recruitment Board and is managed by the Ministry of Railways in 1985, under the Railway Recruitment Control Board and the transition allowed for online applications, computer-based exams, and faster result processing.

Role of Railway Recruitment Board (RRB)

RRB NTPC Exam

The NTPC Full Form is Non- Technical Popular Categories and the Railway Recruitment Board (RRBs) will be releasing Notification for Level 2, 3, 5, and 6 posts and  this recruitment drive, RRB is going to fill huge number of vacancies for the posts of Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) various post such as Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice etc.

RRB Group-D Exam

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) will publish a recruitment notification form to fill the positions of Assistant Loco Shed, Assistant TL & AC, Assistant TL & AC Workshop, Assistant Bridge, Assistant Track Machine, Assistant Engineering, Assistant Workshop, Assistant Loco Shed, Assistant TRD, Hospital Assistant, Assistant, Assistant Pointsman, Assistant C&W, Assistant Depot and many other posts.

RRB JE Exam

The Junior Engineer in railways is also known as JE and  Railway JE exam is conducted for the recruitment for the various post of Junior Engineer (JE)  Junior Engineer (IT), Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant CMA , Depot Material Superintendent  the required degree or a three-year diploma in the field of Civil Engineering or B.Sc in Civil Engineering, OR a degree or diploma with a combination of Civil Engineering from a University, OR a degree or diploma in electrical engineering, mechanical or electronics engineering, automobile, tools etc.

RRB ALP Exam 

The ALP Full Form is Assistant Loco Pilot and the  RRB conducts the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) exam to recruit candidates into the Indian Railways and The Candidates should have passed matriculation and completed course Act Apprenticeship Industrial Training Institute approved by NCVT in the respective field also those who have done a diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Automobile Engineering recognized by the AICTE are also eligible for the exam.

Education Qualification for RRB Exams

The education qualification for different RRB exams is different:

  • (RRB-JE Exam) Junior Engineer Exam – Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • (RRB NTPC Exam) – Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university 
  • (RRB ALP Assistant Loco Pilot Exam) – Matriculation pass or diploma in Engineering
  • RRB Group D/ RRC Level 1 Exam – 10th pass , ITI from institutions recognised by NCVT/SCVT
